The EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act (2018), sets out the key principles, rights, and obligations for the processing of personal data. In other words, it regulates how companies can collect and process data which relates to or identifies individuals.

 

Our commitment

The regulations apply to all individuals in EU countries, where information is collected that can be used to identify those individuals. This includes name, address, email, etc. We collect this information to provide you with an account, for billing purposes, and to enable us to provide you with services.

We have taken the business decision to operate as a GDPR compliant business in everything we do, even for customers in countries not governed by GDPR. Regardless of where you are, we are committed to protecting your privacy and data.

What information do we collect? How’s it used?

Our Privacy Policy explains all the information we collect, how we use it, and how long we keep that information. It also explains the limited circumstances under which we may share that data with other companies.

Your legal rights

The regulations specify certain rights that you have as an individual. These are legal rights every company must provide you with if they collect information which can be used to identify you.

  • Your right to be informed.

    This statement, combined with our Privacy Policy, explains why we collect and use your personal information, and what other information we may have relating to you. They also cover who to contact and how to complain if you’re not happy.
  • Get copies of the information.

    This is called a “Subject Access Request” – it means you have the right to ask for copies of information a company holds about you. To request information from us, contact us stating the information you would like.
  • Correct your information.

    All companies must allow you to correct information which you think is wrong. All your personal information with us can be changed by updating your account information in our Control Panel.
  • Have your information deleted.

    You can ask companies to delete all or just part of the information they hold on you. To do this, contact us and tell us what you would like us to delete.

    When we delete your data, we are allowed keep some of it, for example we may need to keep order information for accounting or statistical purposes but were possible we will remove all personal identifiers like your name, address, account number, etc. This is called anonymising and it means the data is no longer linked to you and can’t be used to identify you.

    There may be other information which we are unable to delete or anonymise in order to fulfil our legal obligations.

  • Limit or object to how we use your data.

    You have the right to object to how a company is using your information or ask them to restrict the ways in which they are using your information. They don’t always have to comply with these requests but must explain why not. If you need to contact us for this, tell us what information you are contacting us about and give us details of the objection or limitation and the reason for the request.
  • Raising a concern.

    If you think a company is not protecting or using your information properly, you have a right to complain. You should start by sending your concern to the company to give them a chance to explain or to rectify any problems. If you are still unhappy, you can contact the Data Protection Authority. If you have a concern about us, get in touch with us so we can work with you to sort it out.

Data Controller and Processor

We are registered with the UK Information Commissioners Office as a data controller for the purposes of collecting and processing information from our customers. Our registration number is Z000000.

Where one of our customers is using our services to collect personal information on their customers, we act as a Data Processor. Where necessary, it is the responsibility of our customers to register as a Data Controller and to ensure they are collecting, and processing, all information lawfully. If you suspect one of our customers is collecting or processing data illegally, please contact us so we can investigate.

Age restrictions

We do not promote or offer our services to anyone under the age of 16. If you believe someone under the age of 16 may be using our services or may have provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can investigate.
